Music program

The community takes great pride in our ability to provide an excellent music program.

Overview

Our music programs are important features of college life. Junior, middle and senior school students can express themselves creatively, while having fun and learning new skills.

Music lessons

Students in Prep and above can learn from instruments including woodwind (flute, oboe, clarinet, alto, tenor and baritone saxophone), brass (trumpet, trombone, french horn, euphonium, tuba), bass guitar and percussion.

Primary school students in Years 5 and 6 can participate in their own instrumental program. This ensures students have foundational knowledge of music theory and instruments, prior to starting Year 7.

We offer a classroom music subject for Year 9 and 10 students interested in pursuing music at a higher level. We also offer VCE Solo/Group Performance for advanced senior students.

Our ensembles

Instrumentalists, vocalists, guitarists and pianists are invited to participate in an ensemble.

The College currently offers four ensembles: the swing band and the junior, intermediate and senior concert bands.

Students in an ensemble attend an instrumental music Iesson each week and allocated to at least one of our college bands.
