Senior school

Orbost Community College’s Senior School includes Years 10 to 12 and expects students to be active participants in their learning journey.

Overview

The College’s Senior School curriculum guides students during the next chapter of their educational journey. Students can pursue a Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or the alternative Victorian Certificate of Education – Vocational Major (VCE-VM) with Vocational and Education Training (VET) subjects available in each course.

Year 10 curriculum

Year 10 students can organise their studies based on their individual strengths and interests, whilst establishing the foundations for future study.

Students are guided to select a learning program that best suits their educational needs, career aspirations and interests.

Year 10 students are required to complete work experience, teaching them skills for the future. Some students, under the guidance of our staff, choose to study one VCE or VET subject.

Year 11 and 12 curriculum

Our Year 11 and 12 students are provided with a range of pathways to support their studies through pursuing a VCE or the alternative VCE – VM.

VET subjects are also available in each course, allowing students to maximise their learning of choice.

We prepare students for the future, providing them with the skills, knowledge and abilities to face challenges.

Students are guided through their final year of secondary school with a clear and open counselling service and career guidance that supports students to select the right path for their individual journey; and shows them a successful post-secondary education pathway.
