Orbost comes together as the Community College opens its doors

Orbost opening smoking ceremony

A new chapter in Orbost education

We were delighted to open the doors to our new school, Orbost Community College, marking a special occasion for our community. Our college represents an exciting step in local education, building on the nurturing learning environments of the local schools that preceded us.

On a special day for the school, we were thrilled to welcome local Aboriginal elders, alumni from the primary and secondary schools, community leaders, parents, and, of course, our students. A number of Aboriginal elders marked the occasion with a smoking ceremony, paying respects to the land and honouring our community’s cultural heritage.

We’re excited about what 2024 brings, with new modern facilities reflecting a commitment to our students. Brand-new facilities include a junior school learning hub, state-of-the-art food tech lab and basketball court. We’re grateful for our community’s support as we start this journey together.
